Roma Craft Tobac Intemperance
Intemperance is defined as “lack of moderation or restraint” and if you have ever had any of the cigars from Skip Martin and Michael Rosales of Roma Craft Tobac you know that restraint is not something packaged in the wrapper, binder and fillers they blend, roll, box and bring to you. These guys from Texas have several lines (in various sizes and ring gauges) and each one is a flavor bomb that does not disappoint. The Intemperance is the one that has caught my attention and I find most enjoyable. This Intemperance EC XVII is a mild strength, medium to full flavor smoke in the following blend: Wrapper: Ecuador Connecticut, Binder: Indonesia, Filler: Nicaragua/Dominican Republic a 5 1/2 x 54 Belicoso to be specific and it retails for about $7.00 USD.
Now the Intemperance line provides you several choices if you will; Intemperance EC XVIII, Intemperance BA XXI along with some store exclusives only available in specific cities or during specific Roma Craft Tobac events – The BA XXI A.W.S. IV, The EC XVIII A.W.S. IV. Produced in their Esteli, Nicaragua factory (Fabrica de Tobacco NicaSueno), Intemperance is presented in two capa varietals and four vitolas. Branding for Intemperance evokes the history of prohibition and features a logo inspired by a famous artifact of the temperance movement, a propaganda poster/political print produced by a temperance hymnodist, A.D. Fillmore in 1855. Mention “prohibition” and it makes me want to pour bourbon, light the foot of this cigar and just sit back, relax and completely enjoy a lack of moderation.
