Bardstown Road Aglow

Police estimated 50,000 people attended the 30th annual Bardstown Road Aglow this past Saturday night, December 2nd. Businesses were open, the street and buildings were lit and decorated as families visited the many shops offering tours, cookies, meals and anything else you can imagine.

There was a vehicle decorating contest and drawings for prizes throughout the evening. This year Maker’s Mark sponsored the event and sold drinks in a mug sporting that iconic red wax. VERY festive attire!

There were street musicians galore all along the route as well, rounding out a treat for the senses of sights, sounds and smells of the season. The weather was great – clear and just a little chilly, encouraging folks to step in to visit some businesses they perhaps had passed many times on their travels before tonight. (That is, after all, the idea here!)
