B3 Bash for Kosair Charities

The B3 Fest is a festival of bacon, bourbon and beer with 18 local chefs like Paul Sant with Corbetts and Zach Young of Marketplace creating bacon-centric dishes and competing for the best of the fest honors. As if that isn’t enough bacon for you, there was a “bacon bar” combining bacon with flavors from every imaginable corner of the culinary map – chocolate, avacado, fruits, desserts, you name it. They advertise over 10,000 pieces of bacon, but I stopped counting after I exceeded my dietary limit of about 20 pieces!

This year the event was held at Louisville Executive Aviation in Hangar 1 at Bowman Field. It was a beautiful, warm night and the size of the place really contributed to a festival feel with tables and seating both indoors and out.

Proceeds from this event go to Kosair Charities and I’ll tell ya – if you can’t sign up to a charity like Kosair when you’re getting open bars with beer, bourbon and bacon in return for your giving, well, you probably shouldn’t be making financial decisions. But seriously, it’s a great event and a great cause.

There were donated items available by silent auction and several other vendors represented like Dave Furn’s Kentucky Oak Bourbon Barrel Furniture and Kentucky Gentleman Cigars in Frankfort, KY.

No need to lament all winter that you missed this great event. The next one is just around the corner on February 20th at the Mellwood Arts Center. To differentiate, the next event will go by the B3 Bash but it’s just as great. Get your tickets HERE
