Busted Knuckle Ale

by

Busted Knuckle Ale says “ale” on the bottle, but don’t be fooled into thinking it’s a pale ale, as the name might suggest – this is an ale that is much more like a porter, with its roasted malt and chocolaty flavors. But it’s also a highly quaffable beer – as was the objective by Quaff ON! Brewing Co., that brews it.

Hey, not many breweries have a porter as a flagship beer, but this one is worth it, with a big nose, a sturdy body, a nice clean finish, and just enough lingering flavor without any noticeable bitterness. This brewery, based in Bloomington, Ind., just landed in Louisville around Derby time, so look for it in stores and on tap around town, along with a few other beers like Hare Trigger IPA, Six Foot Blond, and Fool’s Rush Inn, and imperial stout.

And it will be Quaff ON!’s first foray outside the Hoosier state, too, so we here in Louisville get first dibs. This according to brewery rep Danny Gold.

“We’re pretty excited for the opportunity,” he said. So are we, Danny. So are we.
