Jill’s Wish Derby Cocktail Party
The second annual Jill’s Wish Derby Cocktail Party was held Saturday, April 29th at Bowman filed in hangar 7, and yes, they needed that much room! As I mentioned before, if you could attend one derby event, this was the one.
Jill’s Wish was founded by Jill and Bart Conley after a stage IV breast cancer diagnosis in her early 30s. She was propelled into the spotlight following a documentary about her journey, and she chose to use that notoriety to give back to people like herself. Sadly, Jill passed away from the disease in early February 2016, but her legacy and mission continues.
This is the organization’s biggest fund raising event. The admission price covered an open bar covered by Brown-Foreman and Ballotin Chocolate Whiskey, plenty of food by Captain’s Quarters and Pepperwood Catering, music by Linkin Bridge and Thumper and the Plaid Rabbits. There was a silent auction and raffles of donated items from the community.
