If you ask anyone who has been in Louisville since the last century what’s a “Tony BoomBozz” you should get the following answer/s – Pizza guy/Pizza Place they are almost one-and-the-same. Starting back in 1998 Tony Palombino decided to combine his family recipes, work ethic and flair; stuff he had learned from his family, to create gourmet pizzas and other delectable dishes and share them across the Ville.

He now has 4 locations here in Louisville and 3 across the Ohio River in Indiana. The name “Boombozz” comes from Italian slang and means wild, crazy, and fun. I like the Westport Taphouse location as they have a great beer selection on draft both local and regional craft beer as well as the big brand names.

Although they are thrown in the air, topped with the fresh ingredients you choose and presented at your table; I AM NOT! The STUFFED PORTOBELLO mushroom is simply the BEST! It’s a fresh Portobello stuffed with Sausage, Onion, Spinach Bacon, Artichokes, Black Olives, topped with Asiago and Feta Cheeses then oven baked. Garnished with Roma Tomatoes and Creamy Pesto Sauce this mushroom is the size of a softball and easily a small meal for those who want a modest bite or easily shareable on a date night. It’s only $7.99 for one as part of their “social plates” or appetizer menu and at that price you might want to order two! Check their hours on the web, Facebook or Instagram as hours may vary by location.
